11 Alberta Athletes Set to Compete at Elite Canada in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics this Weekend

The 2019 Elite Canada in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics competition kicks off this Friday, February 1st and runs until Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the Centre Sportif de Gatineau in Gatineau, QC. 11 Alberta gymnasts are taking part in the competition which will see over 100 of Canada’s top athletes competing in novice, junior and senior categories.

Gymnasts in each category will seek qualification for High Performance status, which gives them the right to compete in those categories at Canadian Championships and to be eligible to be considered for national teams and potential international competitions.

45 medals are up for grabs with one titleholder named in each category. Gymnastics Canada will also announce and celebrate the 2019 Athlete and Coaches of the Year for artistic gymnastics.
