AGF hosts first ever Safe Sport webinar in Canadian Gymnastics
Last week, the Alberta Gymnastics Federation (AGF) hosted the first-ever Safe Sport webinar in Canadian gymnastics. Thanks to everyone who tuned in. We had over 90 participants!
It was great to see so many individuals, families and coaching teams from across Alberta gather in front of their computers to learn about abuse prevention, athlete maltreatment and the new initiatives AGF is leading – in partnership with Gymnastics Canada – to help keep our members safe and enjoying gymnastics! Each and every member of the AGF community plays a role in creating a safe environment for all participants in the sport of gymnastics so thank you for this great show of support and for your ongoing contributions.
Huge thanks to Ellen MacPherson, Safe Sport Director with Gymnastics Canada and Detective Adena Warren from the Calgary Police Service Child Abuse Unit for volunteering their time and adding their expertise to the presentation. Thanks also to the AGF members and staff who helped make this possible.
A recording of the webinar is available for those who were unable to join us and can be accessed here: http://abgym.webinato.com/archives/360074
Please note, only the last 45 minutes of the presentation were captured. View the full slide deck.
Feedback from the community is always welcome and AGF is open to requests for other educational sessions that would be of interest. Please email questions, concerns or feedback regarding the webinar or Safe Sport in general to email@example.com.
