REP Implementation Grant

REP Implementation Grant

Yesterday the Government of Alberta opened the application portal for the Restrictions Exemption Program Implementation Grant. This grant provides a one-time payment to all eligible businesses that employ less than 500 employees and/or contractors and choose to follow the requirements of the REP.

Clubs that routinely check for proof of: vaccination, privately-paid negative test rapid test (taken within 72 hours), or medical exemption, are all able to apply for this $2,000 subsidy. Also, clubs with multiple locations can submit applications for each location.

The monies are intended to offset the costs of implementing the program and can be used as your club see fit.

For example:

  • purchasing smart phones/tablets to scan QR codes
  • hiring additional staff
  • adding extra shifts for employees that check for proofs

Applications are accepted using your MyAlberta Digital ID and uses the same process as the Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant and the Jobs Now Program.  If your club had previously applied for the SME Relaunch Grant, that information can be imported to this new submission.

The $2,000 grant should arrive within 15 business days by EFT directly into your bank account.

Please note that the grant is taxable business income (for those clubs that are not tax-exempt) and subject to potential audit for REP compliance.

If you have questions please contact Craig Drebit at and he will try to answer them.

Thanks and have a great and healthy week!
