THE ALBERTA GYMNASTICS FEDERATION requires a COMMUNICATIONS/MARKETING MANAGER

The Alberta Gymnastics Federation is the Provincial Association responsible for the development of the sport of gymnastics within Alberta. Based in Calgary, the Alberta Gymnastics Federation has more than 85 affiliate clubs throughout the Province with a total membership of over 55,000. Alberta Gymnastics has a reputation for excellence at both the organizational and program levels.

The Communications/Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating and maintaining the AGF communications plan that will assist in delivering membership value, visibility and leadership of the organization and its programs. This includes, but not limited to; successfully articulating communication messages to all stakeholder groups, maintaining communications tools including website, newsletters, numerous print materials, social media and various marketing campaigns.

The individual may be required to perform additional duties as listed below. Duties/tasks would include, but not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain the AGF communication plan
  • Develop, implement and maintain the AGF marketing plan
  • Develop and maintain the AGF media relation plan
  • Supervise and maintain all social media communications
  • Direct membership communication at various events and activities
  • Supervise web site design and maintenance
  • Supervise design and production of all Federation print materials
  • Day to day office administrative assistance

The ideal candidate must possess superior skills in the areas of verbal and written communication, time management, organization, is multi-task oriented, creative and self-directed. Technical knowledge of the sport would also be an asset. Any combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree along with previous experience in a communications/marketing role would also be of benefit.

Additionally, the candidate must be able to demonstrate above average interpersonal and collaborative skills with experience working in complex workplaces with many key stakeholders. Understanding of the various software (Office, Google Docs, Adobe, etc.) is also an asset.
