Team Alberta Wins 13 Medals at the 2019 Artistic Gymnastics Canadian Championships

26 women and 21 men represented Alberta at the 2019 Artistic Gymnastics Canadian Championships that took place in Ottawa this past weekend. Alberta had a strong showing, bringing home a total of 13 medals; 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 6 Bronze.

In addition to providing national rankings and declaring Canadian Champions, the competition served to complete the selection process for the following major competitions taking place later this year: the Pan American Games, Junior World Championships, and the FISU Games. Among those qualifying to represent Canada in gymnastics at the 2019 FISU Summer Universiade was Damian Cachia of the University of Calgary Gymnastics Centre. He’ll be heading to Napoli, Italy alongside Coach, Tony Smith to represent Canada at the competition which is set to run from July 3 to 14.

Congratulations to Damien as well as all our medalists, participants and coaches on yet another successful Canadian Championship.
