Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Competitive Program Coach – Full Time
The Marian Gymnastics Club is the oldest gymnastics club in Saskatchewan celebrating over 60 years of excellence. Marian is an organization that is run by a group of enthusiastic and experienced staff.
Marian is one the largest and most successful clubs in the province. Marian has been producing champions at the provincial, Western Canadian, and national levels for decades, and has produced high performance gymnasts since 1992, with many national team members.
We are currently seeking an individual for the position of Women’s Artistic Coach. We are looking for applicants who are willing to work full time, coach in a supportive and positive WAG Team setting. We may also require successful candidates to assist in guiding our developmental programs. Hours of coaching will be during the day into the afternoon and evenings and possibly on weekends. Two days off a week will be provided in the scheduling. Responsibilities Include: • Regular coaching expectations within the decided schedule • Direct the Marian developmental program • The ability to be a self-starter when required, but still willing to follow exacting directions from the WAG Head Coach, and be able to collaborate in regards to the content and technique being taught to our competitive athletes. • Nurture and develop all athletes’ potential skills and abilities • Identify strengths and weaknesses of athletes • Analyze and evaluate athletes’ performances and modify training programs as needed in coordination with the WAG Head Coach • Attending competitions, training camps, etc. as requested • Attending club and WAG program staff meetings & training sessions as requested • Mentor and support in house coach development • Other duties and tasks as assigned
Knowledge and Skills: • minimum 5 years’ experience coaching competitive level women’s artistic gymnastics, including elite/high performance gymnasts. • ability to work in a strong team environment • excellent communication skills • energetic, active, and engaging while coaching, to create a positive training environment • NCCP level 3 WAG certified or equivalent education, or be able to achieve within 12 months of employment • Record of consistent athlete development and results • First Aid certification and a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search will be required
