Company Description: LIGHT Acrobatic Gymnastics Centre is Calgary’s newest 16,000 sq. ft. gymnastics facility, offering programs for athletes at every stage, from Little LIGHTs (ages 0–5) and recreational classes to advanced competitive training. The organization focuses on building confidence, resilience, and a love of movement in a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment. Programs span recreational gymnastics, Acrobatic, Women’s Artistic, and Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, as well as Adapted Gymnastics, Performance Labs, fitness classes, and camps. A team of passionate coaches is dedicated to creating positive experiences for athletes and families while fostering meaningful connections. Role Description: Lead engaging recreational, preschool, and introductory competitive gymnastics classes Teach gymnastics fundamentals and skill progressions in a safe and supportive environment Create positive, appropriate learning experiences that build confidence and physical literacy Provide encouragement, feedback, and skill development opportunities for athletes of varying abilities Communicate professionally with athletes, families, and fellow coaches Assist with birthday parties, camps, special events, and gym activities as needed Support gym cleanliness, organization, and equipment setup Follow all LIGHT, AGF, and Gymnastics Canada policies and safety standards Contribute to a positive team culture that reflects LIGHT’s commitment to excellence, inclusion, and athlete development.
Qualifications Strong technical foundation in Gymnastics and Tumbling, with the ability to teach fundamentals through introductory competitive skills safely and progressively. Previous gymnastics coaching experience preferred Excellent Communication skills, including clear instruction for athletes of varying ages and positive, professional communication with families and colleagues. NCCP Gymnastics Foundations Trained or Certified preferred Current first aid/CPR certification preferred (or willingness to complete). Proven ability to create an inclusive, supportive atmosphere for athletes of all abilities, including those in adapted or beginner programs. Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to manage groups safely while maintaining a positive and engaging class environment. Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support regular programming, events, and camps.
