Pre-CIT (Pre-Coaching Training Program)

This program is for anyone starting at the age of 13. This program allows younger potential coaches to begin training before they are eligible to participate in the NCCP courses.

Program Length

• 13 year old should complete the program over two full years but can complete it in one year if that is how their club delivers the program. They will still be required to wait until the age of 15 to be able to take the Gymnastics Foundations courses.
• 14 and 15 year old’s can complete the program in one year and may take the Gymnastics Foundations courses if they are 15 years of age.

Program Content

The Pre-CIT program includes two parts of content

• Part 1: Complete five hours of tutorials, 10 hours of in-gym coaching time with a certified adult coach.
• Part 2: Complete additional 10 hours of tasks related to coach, officiating and administration, 5 hours of in-gym coaching time with certified adult coach.

A Pre-CIT must always be under the direct supervision of a certified coach who is at least 18 years of age. Direct supervision is defined as one certified coach supervising one Pre-CIT at one time.

A Pre-CIT coach must NEVER be given sole responsibility for a group of children, or spot any skills.
