Job Details

Ready to Build Something of Your Own?
What if you could help shape a gymnastics program from the ground up—your ideas, your standards, your impact?

NPGA is looking for a passionate coach and emerging leader to help us build what comes next.

This is more than a coaching position.

We’re looking for someone who wants to lead our competitive program and become a key day-to-day leader within the gym—the person who is present, engaged, sees what needs to be done, supports our coaches, and helps make the entire gym run better.

You don’t need to already be a Head Coach to apply. If you’re an experienced coach who is ready to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you.

This is your chance to build—not just coach.

The Opportunity
Location: Fort St. John, BC
Position: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: Immediate — we are willing to wait until the end of the season for the right person, but please reach out now.
Salary: Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience

You’ll work closely with the Executive Director as a key leader within NPGA, with responsibility for the success of our competitive programs while also helping oversee the day-to-day operation and culture of the gym.

This is a hands-on role. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable coaching, leading, problem-solving, supporting others, and stepping in wherever they are needed.

What You’ll Do
Lead the Competitive Program
Lead and develop our competitive stream, including Interclub
Develop and implement athlete development plans
Plan and coordinate competitions, camps, clinics, and travel
Monitor athlete progress and help establish clear development pathways
Support coaches with programming, technical development, and feedback
Build a positive, accountable, and athlete-centered competitive culture

Be a Leader Across the Gym
Be a visible, hands-on leader and a go-to person for coaches, athletes, and families
Help oversee the day-to-day flow of programs and identify what needs attention
Support scheduling, staffing, and program organization
Mentor and develop coaches across all levels and programs
Help ensure equipment, training spaces, and program needs are being addressed
Work with the Executive Director to identify issues, solve problems, and improve how the gym operates
Help create consistency in coaching standards, communication, and expectations across the club
Step in where needed to keep programs running smoothly

Help Shape What Comes Next
We are looking for someone who sees opportunities rather than just tasks.
You’ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, improve systems, develop coaches, strengthen programs, and help shape the future direction of NPGA.
This role can grow with the right person and provides a pathway toward a Head Coach / senior leadership position for someone who demonstrates the skills, initiative, and leadership to take on greater responsibility.

What You Bring
NCCP Competition 2 minimum; Competition 3 preferred, or a willingness to complete it
Competitive coaching experience in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics
Strong technical knowledge and a commitment to athlete development
Strong organization and communication skills
The ability to lead, mentor, and bring out the best in other coaches
Initiative—you see what needs to be done and take action
A team-first attitude and willingness to be hands-on
A coaching philosophy centered on athlete well-being, Safe Sport, and long-term development

We’re less focused on the title you currently hold and more interested in what you’re capable of becoming.

If you’re currently a strong competitive coach, assistant head coach, program lead, or coach who is ready for a bigger leadership opportunity, we encourage you to apply.

Bonus Points If You Have
Experience with both Xcel and CCP programs
Experience mentoring or supervising other coaches
Knowledge of Safe Sport practices
Experience with scheduling, staffing, or program administration
Experience in a not-for-profit or community sport environment
NCCP Competition 3 or higher
