Are you an experienced General Manager or Executive Director looking for an opportunity to work in the beautiful Okanagan? North Valley Gymnastic in Vernon, BC is looking for an outstanding leader to be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, long-term operations, finances, administrative functions, and facility management of NVGS.

NVGS is a not-for-profit gymnastics club that currently provides gymnastics training to approximately 500 athletes in competitive and recreational streams. We are located in a newly constructed 11,000 sq. ft. facility. NVGS is looking for an experienced General Manager to work with our highly skilled Head Coach and Operations Manager to significantly increase and diversify programming, grow an excellent competitive program, and establish NVGS an exceptional place to train and to work in our community.

Skills and Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience in a business leadership role, preferably in the non-profit sector
· Strong leadership, HR, and organizational skills
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Experience and knowledge of financial management, administration, and program management
· Education/background in business administration, public administration, economic development or a related field and/or experience
· Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sectors Check
· Pre-existing knowledge of gymnastics club operations is desirable, but not required

Hours: 20-30hrs/wk
Wages: negotiable, based on experience

Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

· Plans and directs the gym’s long term and day-to-day operations and administration directly or through reporting staff.
· Develop and implement operational and human resource policies and procedures for smooth functioning.
· Coordinate with the Head Coach and Operations Manager for effective club operations.

Development and Growth

· Develop and maintain a positive work culture that attracts and retains staff and drives organization’s mission.
· Works with the Head Coach to identify opportunities for growth.

Staff Supervision:

· Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule management and administrative staff.
· Conduct performance evaluations of Head Coach and Operations Manager and provide ongoing feedback.
· Work collaboratively with Head Coach and Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of the organization, program strategy, compliance, and program efficiency.

Facility Management (in Coordination with the Operations Manager):

· Supervise the maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of gym equipment and facilities.
· Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and upgrades as necessary.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Financial Oversight:

· Prepare and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and track revenues.
· Manage the organization’s finances prudently and ensures financial health of the organization.

Customer Service:

· Manage customer relations and resolve issues.
· Implement strategies to enhance member satisfaction and retention.

Event Coordination:

· In coordination with the Head Coach and the Operations Manager, plan, organize, and oversee club events, competitions, and workshops.

Communication and Coordination:

· Act as a liaison between staff, members, and external stakeholders.

· Maintain effective communication channels within the club.
· Proactively address challenges.
· Report regularly to the Board of Directors regarding club operations and finances.

Compliance and Safety:

· Ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal standards, and safety protocols.
· Implement and enforce club policies related to safety and operations.

The city of Vernon is nestled in B.C.’s beautiful Okanagan Valley. It is well known for its tranquil setting amid valleys, mountains, and 3 lakes. Vineyards and orchards abound in the region.
