Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Level 7+ Competitive Coach

Calgary Gymnastics Centre is seeking a Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Level 7+ Competitive Coach to join our coaching team. Reporting to the WAG Program Director, the successful candidate will primarily coach athletes within our Level 7-9 competitive program.
CGC offers a strong competitive program for Developmental and Level 7+ athletes. Our coaching team works collaboratively to provide a positive and supportive environment focused on Long-Term Athlete Development and competitive success.
Position Details • Part-Time Position • Start Date: July/August 2026 or as soon as possible • Compensation based on experience and qualifications
Position Responsibilities • Coach Level 7-9 competitive athletes during assigned training sessions • Coach athletes on all four Women’s Artistic Gymnastics apparatus • Support skill development through structured, progressive training plans • Develop lesson plans and prepare training sessions • Ensure athlete safety through appropriate spotting techniques and Safe Sport practices • Communicate athlete progress, injuries, and concerns with the WAG Program Director • Prepare athletes for competitions and attend competitions as required • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities • Contribute to a positive and collaborative coaching environment
Qualifications • Minimum NCCP Competition Introduction Advanced (C2) Trained • Willingness to obtain NCCP Competition Development (C3) certification • Trampoline C1 Trained • Strong knowledge of the Developmental Code of Points • Completion of Respect in Sport and Safe Sport training • Making Head Way in Sport Certification • Current First Aid and CPR Certification, or willingness to obtain within three months of employment • Valid Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Check • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Minimum three years of experience coaching athletes at a similar competitive level is considered an asset • Must be capable of spotting athletes and actively participating in training sessions
Eligibility & Availability • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application • Availability to coach daytime, evening, and weekend training sessions • Ability to travel to provincial and national competitions as required
