Trampoline & Tumbling Head Coach

We focus on promoting fitness, skill development, and community spirit through gymnastics, cheerleading, parkour and licensed pre school programming. Job Summary: The Trampoline & Tumbling Head Coach is a key member of the leadership team, collaborating closely with members, athletes, and coaches of the Grande Prairie Gymnastics Society (GPGS). This role is responsible for developing a trampoline & tumbling program then overseeing all aspects of the program, including ongoing planning, implementation, recruitment, monitoring, and evaluation of both the program and its staff. Key duties include the development of a grass roots trampoline & tumbling program, recruitment, supervision, training, and conducting performance reviews for the team, as well as program development and management. The ideal candidate is an organized, dependable, and customer service-oriented individual, with exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities: • Development & implementation of a Trampoline & Tumbling Gymnastics program. • Plan, organize, and manage all aspects of a competitive trampoline & tumbling program for children, and youth. • Plan and lead developmentally appropriate lessons, adjusting activities as necessary to provide optimal challenges for each participant. • Hire, supervise and mentor trampoline & tumbling coaches for performance and growth. • Plan and manage all special events within the recreation program. • Address member concerns or feedback with professionalism and empathy. • Coordinate athlete evaluation meetings with parents and athletes. • Perform general administrative duties related to the trampoline & tumbling program. • Oversee member registrations and manage program setup in the database. • Ensure that all Health & Safety protocols are followed. • Maintain positive relations with the Alberta Gymnastics Federation. • Activate emergency procedures when required. • Detect, minimize, and report hazardous conditions, practices, or behaviors in the workplace. • Create, manage, and track the budget for the trampoline & tumbling program. • Collaborate with other programs to ensure appropriate scheduling for all programs. • Input and monitor staff schedules and timesheets. • Plan for, staff and attend all required competitions. • Register all staff for necessary training and certifications. • Plan travel for business purposes as required. • Attend and/or host meetings and trainings as necessary. • Additional tasks as assigned Essential Skills & Training: • C1 NCCP Artistic Gymnastics certification • C2 NCCP Trampoline Gymnastics certification • High School Diploma required • Supervisory experience • 5+ years of coaching experience • Strong leadership skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to lead, motivate, and coach all age groups & abilities with empathy, patience and support • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to use tact, diplomacy, and mature judgment • Ability to maintain confidentiality • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Energetic team player with an outgoing, friendly, responsible, punctual, and adaptable attitude • Strong organizational, prioritizing, time management, and multi-tasking skills • Proficient computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs • Exceptional organizational skills for managing own workload and the workload of staff • Strong commitment to safety, ensuring safe work practices are implemented and maintained • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in interpreting and applying relevant regulations, policies, and procedures • Proven ability to manage change and resolve conflicts using effective conflict resolution techniques • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search • Strong attention to detail • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications: • Thorough knowledge of Grande Prairie Gymnastics Programs • Previous experience developing a Trampoline & Tumbling program • Previous experience with the Uplifter platform • Previous experience with Ceridian • Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders certification • First Aid with CPR • Post Secondary Diploma or Degree.
