Alberta Gymnastics is excited to announce a new partnership with Special Olympics Alberta.

With their mission to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community, they are a perfect partner for gymnastics.

Special Olympics Alberta will host learning sessions for coaches centered around coaching athletes with an intellectual disability and adapting our current programs to reach these individuals. This addition to our programming will help to create space for athletes and more inclusivity within our community. Over the next couple of months, keep an eye out for learning opportunities.

We can’t wait to witness the wonderful evolution this partnership will provide for our coaches!
