❗Reminder ❗Our first in-person workshop with Special Olympics will take place on October 27th in Edmonton!
The NCCP Competition Coach Workshop is a formal, full-day training course offered for Alberta Gymnastics Federation coaches interested in furthering their education on coaching an athlete with a disability. This course will not only help you to adapt existing classes for those who require, but is also designed for coaches interested in developing their athletes for competition and travel opportunities.
The goals of the SOC Competition Sport Course are preparation for local, provincial, national, and international competitions with the primary focus on safety, fun, fitness, fundamentals, and performance as well as teaching the basic skills of the sport.
A Trained SOC Competition Coach is expected to:
We recommend this course for Head Coaches and coaches with a particular interest in coaching athletes with an intellectual disability. Group work, coach networking, and practical applications will be explored.
