The 2023 World Championships and World Age Group Competitions are currently underway at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, UK.
With lasers, smoke, fire, and booming music, these Championships are next level! Our team is working together so well, and everyone is having a wonderful time.
The World Championships completed Sunday November 12th, and ten athletes from Alberta represented Canada:
Abby Thompson (Calgary Gymnastics Centre) – 30th Women’s Tumbling
Adam Stannard (Phoenix Gymnastics Centre) – 22nd Men’s Tumbling
Claire Jackson (Pegasus Gymnastics) – 19th Women’s Tumbling
Keegan Soehn (Thunder Country) – 28th Men’s Individual Trampoline
Kalena Soehn (Thunder Country) – 33rd Women’s Double-Mini & 5th Women’s Synchronized Trampoline with Rachel Tam (ON)
Mark Armstrong (Calgary Gymnastics Centre) – 25th Men’s Double-Mini
Mitchel Pedersen (Calgary Gymnastics Centre) – 26th Men’s Tumbling
Nolan Zurek (Phoenix Gymnastics Centre) – 8th Men’s Double-Mini
Samantha Ibach (Calgary Gymnastics Center) – 38th Women’s Tumbling
Zoe Phaneuf (Calgary Gymnastics Centre) – 8th Women’s Double-Mini
In addition, these were outstanding individual performances from other Canadian athletes:

Congratulations! Now the athletes can watch the rest of the events and maybe attend the famous Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas market!
This weekend the attention turns to the younger athletes competing at the World Age Group Competition. Fourteen athletes representing Alberta will be in attendance. Good luck to them and the rest of Team Canada!
