WAG Program Update – July 2024

25 July 2024

The Women’s Program Assembly (WPA) Meeting was held on June 22nd in Red Deer.

Coaches from all across the province came to discuss the upcoming competitive season and it was great to be able to hear everyone’s ideas and expectations for our Alberta WAG Program.

Also during the meeting a new WPC was voted in. Your new WPC consists of:

  • Barb Bilsborrow – Co-chair
  • Katrina Brandt – Co-chair
  • Lisa Pattison – High Performance Representative
  • Berrie Onishenko – Canadians Representative
  • Jeremy Mosier – Westerns Representative
  • Kiera Schrader-Balson – Provincials Representative
  • Amy Miller – Developmental Representative
  • Sarah Shaver – Judging chair

The next day, on June 23rd we held the virtual Women’s Judging Assembly (WJA) meeting where a new judging system was voted in.

More information on this system will be sent to all judges and clubs with courses starting in the fall.

Also this fall AGF is happy to be hosting training camps for Xcel, Compulsory, and all Optional levels. These camps are an excellent opportunity for clubs and coaches to come together and learn from each other.

Keep an eye on our calendar of events for dates and locations of all the camps. We update it regularly so keep checking back!

Finally, your WAG team wishes Team Canada great success in Paris.  We’re so proud of you all and we’ll be cheering so loudly that you may hear us! The WAG competition starts July 28 and runs until Aug 5 at the iconic Bercy Arena.

Wish we were there! Have a great summer, everyone.
